Role: In close collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Research (BMBWF), the EOSC Support Office Austria (SOA) strengthens Austria’s engagement with EOSC and all Austrian partner institutions. Through its outreach activities, SOA plays a crucial role in disseminating Skills4EOSC Master Trainer courses across 16 Austrian research institutions, enhancing Open Science and FAIR competencies at a national level. Additionally, SOA fosters collaboration by connecting researchers, infrastructure providers, and institutions to ensure alignment with EOSC developments and best practices. The inclusion of museums, which also provide digital, scientific collections, further highlights the breadth and diversity of Austria’s engagement with Open Science.
Goal: SOA actively contributes to shaping Austria’s involvement in the EOSC Federation and the establishment of an Austrian EOSC Node while providing strategic guidance on Open Science adoption at institutional and national levels. Furthermore, SOA aims to strengthen its collaboration with the Competence Centre Network of Skills4EOSC, ensuring that Austrian institutions actively participate in the broader European Open Science training ecosystem.
