Skills4EOSC comes to an end, its collaboration with the CATALISI project will continue within the Competence Centre Network, ensuring that efforts to strengthen Open Science skills and practices remain active and impactful.
CATALISI – Catalysation of institutional transformations of Higher Education Institutions through the adoption of acceleration services – supports HEIs in implementing tailored pathways for institutional change, with the ultimate aim of embracing more sustainable research and innovation, aligned with societal challenges and European values.
The project brings together Four Facilitators (APRE, EY, ENoLL, F6S), which provide acceleration services, knowledge transfer, and co-designed activities, and Seven Implementers (universities acting as demonstrators of change). Its vision is clear: universities must be beacons of innovation, generating tangible impact and solutions for their ecosystems.
CATALISI has identified 14 intervention areas across three domains:
- Research careers and talent support (research assessment reform, recognition of qualifications, talent circulation).
- Research modus operandi (mainstreaming Open Science, digitalisation of research, citizen engagement, shared infrastructures).
- Sustainable research and education (sustainable education, funding, campus operations, and research practices).
To achieve these transformations, CATALISI offers innovative acceleration services: Living Labs, counselling and mentoring, tailored transformation pathways, a predictive skills study, a community of practice, capacity building and outreach activities, and the Catalyst Hub digital platform for collaboration.
Skills4EOSC and CATALISI will work together to create synergies between Open Science training, institutional change, and community building. The Competence Centre Network established by Skills4EOSC will provide a platform to carry forward this collaboration, supporting researchers, institutions, and communities across Europe in their journey towards Open Science.
